A reader for the way you actually read

The document disappears.
The words remain.

Read comfortably, listen with device or OpenAI voices, and pick up where you left off. Give story characters distinct voices and control your reading with a conversation.

Built for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android. Local reading and installed device voices work offline; OpenAI features need internet access.

CHAPTER FOUR

Attention is a place

Reading is not merely seeing words. It is the quiet construction of meaning, one thought opening into the next.

A good reader creates room for that attention to settle.

The interface should help, then step away.

Reading, uninterrupted

Your next passage, prepared.

Choose device narration or your own OpenAI API key. OpenAI narration caches upcoming sections to reduce pauses; first-time generation and a slow connection can still mean a wait.

01

Pick up the thought, not just the page.

Your reading position and preferences are saved on your device. Pause, open another file, or quit and return. Your library and position stay local; they do not sync between devices.

02

Just ask your reader.

Say “pause”, “continue reading”, or “move back 20 words”. Optional voice control and typed commands keep navigation within reach. Buttons remain available when voice control is off.

03

A voice for each character.

Enable Character voices with your own OpenAI key. A narrator reads the story while recognized characters receive consistent voices based on story cues. You can assign voices yourself in Settings.

Accessibility is architecture

Designed for independence.

Choose larger text, high contrast, bold text, a simpler font, and optional spoken controls. Native reader controls include screen-reader labels and generous touch targets.

  • Clear labels and logical reading order
  • No essential gesture-only controls
  • Typography that scales without collapsing
  • Visual and spoken reading as equal paths

Words should fit the reader.
Never the other way around.

Private by default

Your reading is yours.

Local reading needs no account. Optional OpenAI narration sends passages to OpenAI; character voices also send nearby text for speaker analysis. Your API key is stored with platform-protected storage. API usage is billed to your OpenAI account.

One library for the documents that matter

Current Apple builds read UTF-8 text and Markdown. Android also extracts text-based PDFs, unencrypted EPUBs, and HTML. Scanned PDFs need OCR before import. DOCX, DRM-protected books, and full original-page rendering are not currently supported.
